AR Rahman’s eldest daughter, Khatija, got engaged to audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed on December 29. The ceremony took place in Chennai on her birthday in the presence of close family members and friends. “With the blessings of the Almighty I’m happy to announce to you all my engagement with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed @riyasdeenriyan, an aspiring entrepreneur and a wizkid audio engineer,” Khatija Rahman announced on Instagram on Sunday, along with a photo collage of the couple....

Studio and creative director at Arkane Studios, Harvey Smith, has commented on Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda. Smith, known for his work on numerous AAA titles, including the original Deus Ex, the Dishonored series, and Prey, was recently interviewed by Spanish outlet Vandal, in which he was asked about Deathloop, the future of A.I. and the recently-announced Bethesda acquisition. While the acquisition is still in progress and changes at Bethesda and subsidiary Arkane Studios aren’t really noticeable yet, Smith does believe that Microsoft is the ideal partner for the studio....

Nintendo’s Indie World event has wrapped, offering a satisfying look at some high quality upcoming indie games slated for release in 2021 and 2022, including Eastward and Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon. While many fans were desperately waiting for news of Hollow Knight: Silksong, another highly anticipated indie metroidvania sequel expected to be shown was Axiom Verge 2. Well, Axiom Verge fans were treated to some excellent news, as the highly anticipated sequel to the 2015 breakout metroidvania from developer Thomas Happ Games is releasing later today....

Over the years, Platinum Games proved that they know how to make excellent action games. However, the development studio also struggled with their smaller projects, which generally seem to lack direction and the same amount of polish as bigger games like Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and NieR Automata, just to name a few. Babylon’s Fall, announced back in 2018, looked like the studio’s next big project, but its three years-long disappearance did not inspire much confidence....

The platformer Balan Wonderworld has not gotten the warmest reception upon its release. Many have criticized the game for its control scheme, bland platforming, and weird mechanics. It’s also had a few controversies, from its final boss needing to be tweaked due to the risk of seizures, to being accused of copying a song from Ghostbusters. Overall, the launch could’ve gone better for the Yuji Naka game. However, the designs of the various characters and creatures in the game are at least charming....

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a huge return to the series that few could have predicted before, but many now welcome. The King of Fighters 15 is the latest sequel in SNK’s long-running fighting franchise that began in 1994 in arcades. The previous entry was in 2016, The King of Fighters 14, and got fairly high reviews. The same seems to be true for this sequel, although numbers can be a funny thing. The King of Fighters 15 is fairly close in aggregate review scores to its predecessor. Does that mean that nothing has changed in the six years between sequels?...
