Missy will be the subject of an episode in the upcoming season of the CBS comedy Young Sheldon, according to a brand-new behind-the-scenes shot from season 6. In preparation for the upcoming fall television season, The Big Bang Theory spin-off is currently back in development. Young Sheldon was confirmed for seasons 6 and 7, assuring that the Coopers’ story will continue for at least the next two years, after securing a multi-year renewal from CBS.
In addition to the broader family plot and Sheldon’s experiences as a relatively new college student at East Texas Tech, the CBS comedy is developing more intimate stories for the family. The importance of Missy, who was key to the Young Sheldon season 4 finale, was greatly lessened in season 5, particularly in the second half of the season. This was distressing for viewers who had grown to love Missy as one of the best characters in the Big Bang Theory spinoff. Thankfully, it seems like the network is making amends by running a second Missy-centered Young Sheldon episode in season 6.
In the past few weeks, Revord has posted a number of pictures from her life, some of which were taken on the CBS comedy set. There are adorable photos of her co-stars, Montana Jordan and Iain Armitage, in it. The most intriguing image from the set shows her filming a scene in Missy’s bedroom behind the scenes. Young Sheldon season 6 may tackle a story that is focused on George and Mary’s lone daughter, based on the location and shot’s framing.
Despite playing a largely supporting role, Young Sheldon season 5 was the character’s breakthrough season. CBS made the most of Missy’s natural appeal and maturity for her age when she offered support to each member of her family as they battled with their own issues. Finally, as she grows into a more confident adolescent, CBS will be able to show her overcoming her problems. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if the sitcom introduced her to a new love partner. Otherwise, Young Sheldon can focus on the close bond between Missy and Georgie, which is frequently disregarded in the program.
