2021 closed with a bang by giving fans everything they wished for: a new Five Nights at Freddy’s game, Security Breach. And while there are some very new elements to the game, it still takes players back to the eerie world of its predecessors. One of the biggest changes in the game is its location. Players will no longer be trapped in a small room, but rather will have to explore a gigantic building.
The protagonist, Gregory is trying to unveil the mysteries of the Mega Pizzaplex. Some things will be familiar, while others are completely new to the series. Because of this, even the biggest fans of FNAF have to be prepared for the unexpected.
7 Use The Faz Watch Often
At the beginning of the game, players will be given a Faz Watch. Using it, they can access maps, missions, and confidential messages. It’s a vital part of the game, and players should rely on it throughout the gameplay.
Because Security Breach is somewhat of an open-world experience, there will be several missions players have to track on their trusty watch. Furthermore, the Mega Pizzaplex is an enormous place, and players have to take note of the maps to figure out where they are and where they’re going.
6 Pay Attention To Instructions
A slightly annoying part of the gameplay is its tendency to say things only once. And if players don’t pay attention, they might not realize what they have to do next. While the Faz Watch will mention the title of each mission, concrete tasks will only be mentioned once by Freddy.
For example, if a player has to go to X location, grab X item, and take the said item to X location, only the end location will be mentioned by the Faz Watch. The rest has to be memorized by the players. This isn’t the case all the time, but it often occurs in the gameplay, so players must be extra attentive when they’re being told something.
5 Take Advantage Of Hiding Places
There are many hiding places spread throughout the map. And while it’s tempting to just run across a room, or get into a high-stakes chase with one of the animatronics, this is not recommended. Instead, players should take advantage of these hiding places and wait out the right moment to start sprinting again.
Some hiding places are hidden in the environment, like boxes, closets, and strollers, and other times Gregory can hide within Freddy himself to get away from trouble. Players should use these opportunities to bypass S.T.A.F.F. and hide from animatronics.
4 Beware Of S.T.A.F.F.
As mentioned before, the hiding places should often be used to go unnoticed through an army of S.T.A.F.F. bots. One of the most annoying parts of the game is the jump scares by these robots, and apart from them interrupting the player’s journey through the Pizzaplex, they also warn animatronics about Gregory’s location.
Some players get caught up at the moment and risk running through an area, thinking they’re sneaky enough to bypass each of these bots, but chances are they’re going to get caught, making missions that much harder to complete. After about ten of these innocent jump scares, S.T.A.F.F. bots become more frustrating than scary.
3 Collect Security Badges And Party Passes
Security Badges (or Passes) are found in Security Offices scattered around the Pizzaplex. These can be used to enter restricted areas. And while some are mandatory to collect (they’re included in missions), some are optional and can open areas that otherwise would go unnoticed.
There are also Party Passes that allow players to enter the Monty Golf area and the Fazer Blast area. These passes can only be used once, so players need to cherish every minute they get to spend in these areas, finding all hidden secrets and collectibles before getting out.
2 Trust Freddy
While this might not come naturally to FNAF fans, trusting Freddy is the main plot focus of Security Breach. The character that was the sole source of nightmares will become Gregory’s trusted companion in Security Breach.
Some parts of the game rely on the use of Freddy as a hiding place, or as a way of getting around the Pizzaplex. While in his chest cavity, players will go unseen by animatronics and can access some areas that are only open for Freddy. But players must be attentive, as if the battery runs out, Freddy will lose control. So sometimes he has to return to his charging station to be available for players.
1 Conserve Sprint And Battery Usage
There are some abilities players can use that they must be careful with. These are the flashlight, the fazer blaster, and the sprint ability. All of these will run out eventually and must be recharged before they can be used again.
The sprint ability recharges by itself when players aren’t using it, and the flashlight’s/fazer blaster’s battery can be recharged at charging stations. Players should be careful when using these, because the recharge time of these may be fatal if not calculated right. For good measure, it’s wise to recharge these whenever a player sees a charging station, and refrain from sprinting when it’s not needed.
