Elyon is a free-to-play MMORPG that has gained a positive reputation for its beautiful graphics, along with enjoyable and relaxing gameplay, and for having a unique combat style that sets it apart from most other MMOs on the market. Players are given the choice between two different factions to join at the start of the game.
More and more people are joining Elyon for the first time because of its popularity and uniqueness. As such, many players will want to know some basic tips to get them started in Elyon, in order to begin the game with the most optimal experience.
9 Choose A Class That Feels Right
There are multiple classes in Elyon – these classes including the Assassin, Elementalist, Gunner, Mystic, Warlord, and the Slayer – and they each bring something new and unique to the picture. There’s no wrong answer for a player when it comes to a class to choose, as each class has a certain ability that sets them apart even further.
Seeing as how each class brings something that other classes can’t, a player can choose whichever class feels right for them. It will make playtime that much more enjoyable, and with no downsides.
8 Do Daily Quests
Daily quests are one of the most important parts of Elyon. These quests will reward a player with all sorts of items that can be used throughout the game to help out their progression. A daily quest will cost from 1-3 of the player’s 20 daily Quest Letters.
Do note if a quest is picked up and then abandoned, it will still cost Quest Letters. It would be best for a player to either choose their quests wisely or finish whatever quest they decide to take on.
7 Keep Checking The Marketplace
Usually, the marketplace is a great area to shop for gear. Like most MMOs, Elyon has a marketplace/auction house, where players can sell their items for in-game currency, and other players can buy the items.
Although the prices can be a bit expensive at times, the marketplace can be a good place to look when it comes to finding gear that can help a newer player out. The main problem would be trying to find something worthwhile, or grinding for enough money to afford something.
6 Get Familiar With Combat
Elyon’s flagship feature is the combat. It’s hard for combat to feel stale in Elyon, due to the several skills that each class has that are all vibrantly different from each other and distinct in every way. As such, the combat that each class employs feels unique.
Combat in Elyon is a breath of fresh air for anyone who may have become used to MMOs with similar-feeling skills and boring combat, whether PvE or PvP. As such, it would be in a player’s best interest to brush up on combat before plunging into something like PvP. It’s also not a bad idea to get into the habit of using keyboard hotkeys to quickly unleash attacks and abilities.
5 Obtain Luminus
Luminus is essentially Elyon’s pet system. In the game’s lore, the Luminus are created with starlight and mana, and differ from nine various types of constellations; each constellation comes with a different type of effect. According to their color, they can also give one of six Rune Attribute effects.
Luminus Battles will give the player EXP, in-game currency, and other rewards, as well. It would be best for a player to read up about how Luminus works, such as what Luminus would be best for which scenario.
4 Understand Dimensional Portals
Dimensional Portals are an important part of a player’s experience when it comes to Elyon. Dimensional portals are great ways to acquire EXP, currency, and other items essential for a free-to-play player.
Of course, these portals are going to be particularly difficult. On top of this, they’re only open for a certain amount of time. (Most of them are open all day, but a player can only enter for an hour a day). Players will need to utilize their time well to clear out the Dimensional Portal of their choice.
3 Use Mana Awakening
Mana awakening is another way to directly strengthen a player’s character. Using the power of mana, players can unlock special abilities and increase their physical stats with certain levels of mana.
It’s worth noting that, once a player selects one of the three beginning attributes, they will be locked there until they gain enough Mana Awakening Experience. Do note that Mana Awakening trees will reset when a new season of Elyon starts, so only the core remains. The tree can be manually reset, too.
2 Gather Heroic & Mythic Gear
Mythic gear is the term for the rarest – and usually the best – gear in Elyon, while Heroic gear is a step down. Mythic gear can be obtained via crafting, while Heroic gear can be obtained via enemies and quests.
Generally, a newer player can get along fine with Rare gear – which is a step down from Heroic – that’s gathered from quests until better items come along. As such, a player should take any opportunity possible to gather gear in both the Heroic and Mythic categories.
1 Learn More About Runestones
The rune system is an integral part of the Elyon experience. Runestones are, essentially, how a player will build and tailor their character for the kind of content they will be playing as.
In other words, different runestones will be used for optimal builds for each class – a runestone with Rune Attributes made for a Gunner, for example, wouldn’t be as good as a runestone made for a Warlord. It would be a great benefit for a player to at least have a general understanding of the runestone system for such a large MMORPG.
