Battlefield 5 has recently surpassed Battlefield 2042 in player numbers on Steam, making it one of the most popular Battlefield titles once again. Like other titles in the series, the game is known for its massive battles and crazy moments, making for a highlight reel of vehicles and gunplay.
Another of these Battlefield 5 highlights came recently, as a clip shows a player going on an insane killing spree with a shotgun, clearing out an entire camp. The player did so completely solo, making for a clip showcasing a one-person army.
The player, Reddit user BillroyThreeThousand, posted the clip with the understated title “Shotty Run.” BillroyThreeThousand stated that the clip was their first post and that they had wanted to show it for a while.
The clip received a mixed reception on Reddit from other users. Some players applauded BillroyThreeThousand for their skilled gunplay and cool clip, recognizing how BillroyThreeThousand outplayed their opponents in the clip. However, other users were not so kind in their replies. One user stated they hate people like BillroyThreeThousand who use shotguns, and another said that shotguns have no recoil in the game, downplaying the skill shown in the clip. There was also a user that stated shotguns are very broken in the game, once again downplaying BillroyThreeThousand’s skills. Clearly, part of the player base has issues with Battlefield 5 shotguns. Regardless of comments downplaying the clip, it is an intense and fun watch.
The video plays out like a campaign mission, with BillroyThreeThousand spawning behind enemy lines and dropping onto the battlefield from a nearby building. An enemy turns to intercept BillroyThreeThousand, catching them off guard but going down in a few shells. BillroyThreeThousand immediately turns left to find an entire squad pouring out of a building, and quickly takes most of them down. Circling around the building, BillroyThreeThousand is chased, but quickly takes the pursuer down, circling around through clouds of smoke to take down two more enemies. Eight kills later and one objective completely cleared, BillroyThreeThousand stands victorious. The atmosphere and skill displayed in the video make it one of the best Battlefield 5 clips that have recently been posted.
With Battlefield 5’s popularity rising, players can expect more clips like BillroyThreeThousand’s to appear, leading to a renaissance of Battlefield 5 user-created content. Since Battlefield 2042 is still performing poorly, perhaps a resurgence of a different title in the series will be enough to carry the franchise. Only time will tell what the future holds for Battlefield games, but for now, players like BillroyThreeThousand are finding ways to have fun in spite of the newest game’s poor state.
Battlefield 5 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
