The long running Battlefield franchise gives players large sandboxes to play around in during matches. Over the years, this has led to what fans call “Battlefield Moments” or unique events that can happen in game when players let their creativity shine with the tools provided. In fact, the debut reveal trailer for Battlefield 2042 recreated a number of these iconic Battlefield Moments including the jet pilot who ejected, took out a rocket launcher to destroy a nearby enemy plane, and then climb back into their freefalling jet to escape.

While that certainly makes for an interesting action setpeice for any video game trailer, this showcased moment actually ocurred in Battlefield 3 by a user named Stun_gravy. With the most recent game, Battlefield 2042, featuring a mix of huge maps and unique operators with special abilities, fans have already begun to put together some epic moments. One player in particular posted a clip in which they act as a savior to a nearby teammate.

The clip can be found over on the Battlefield 2042 subReddit, where the user known as maldofcf jokingly writes that his teammate now owes him a dinner after what happened. In the short 10 second clip, maldofcf is patrolling the cranes on the map Manifest, using a sniper rifle to scope out the enemy team. Looking across to a nearby crane, they spot a teammate about to be assassinated by an enemy player.

As the melee animation begins, maldofcf takes aim and headshots the enemy player, stopping the assassination animation and freeing their teammate from the respawn screen. Naturally, the comments section lit up with praise and comments lamenting the fact that the other player never acknowledged their savior either with a tbag or gun wave. Others sarcastically mentioned being impressed that the bullet even registered, considering the ongoing issues with weapon bloom and bullet spray impacting Battlefield 2042.

This clip is one of many that have begun circulating around social media from Battlefield 2042 players. Even though the game has plenty of issues, players are still finding creative ways to play the game including numerous montages of the level of damage players can inflict with the Wingsuit operator Sundance. Another Reddit user even showcased how they managed to get 16 kills in one second using a single Battlefield jet. Finding a crowded section of land and with a little bit of luck, the player essentially crashes the jet while also causing an explosion that envelops players standing too close to one another.

Battlefield 2042 releases November 19 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
