Original story (published on November 12, 2021) follows:

Battlefield 2042 is the successor to the much-acclaimed Battlefield V and will be released on November 19 this year. The latest installment in the Battlefield series will ditch the single-player campaign in favor of multiplayer gameplay.

Also, it will be the first time the series will support cross-platform play. Set in the near future, Battlefield 2042 has shaken up things quite a bit and introduced several new features that make the gameplay more interesting.

Battlefield 2042 randomly crashing

Nonetheless, last month when the beta started, players reported that they were having issues pre-loading the game.

Now many Battlefield 2042 players who were able to get early access to the title are saying (1,2,3,4) that the game is crashing for them on consoles. The reason behind the crashes is still unclear since they are totally random.

Those who were looking forward to buying the game or already did so say that the issues are wondering if EA will be able to fix all issues with the game before it is launched.

Thankfully, EA Help said that they were aware of Battlefield 2042 crashing and said that the problem is currently under investigation.

Controller mapping issues

The lucky few who did not experience crashing issues with Battlefield 2042 are reporting that the controller mapping is not working for them. Players say that the game was crashing for them as soon as they touched controller mapping.

If and when EA releases a patch that fixes the crashing and controller mapping issues, we will update this space to reflect the same so make sure to keep an eye out.

Update 1 (November 16)

12:15 pm (IST): The issue where Battlefield 2042 keeps crashing on the Xbox has now been acknowledged and as it turns out, other titles are also affected.
