At a time when audiences really valued and appreciated mindless content and a good laugh, Jackass offered a much-needed comic relief. Now with the release of the latest film, Jackass Forever, less than a month away, secrets are starting to come out of the woodwork. One of those spilled secrets is that despite the fact that mega star Bam Margera was fired previously from the series, he will nonetheless be making an appearance in Jackass Forever.

Even though the Jackass series mostly consists of a group of men doing incredibly ridiculous and sometimes downright disgusting stunts, fans have still managed to draw an attachment to the core stars. In the prime of the franchise, the Jackass cast consisted of Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and of course Margera. Although Jackass only ran on-air for about roughly three seasons, the stars were able to kickstart their own careers based off of their loyal fan base from the show. Margera was known particularly as the risk taker and the skateboarder of the group.

In a recent interview with Variety, Knoxville confirmed that despite being fired from production, Margera will appear during one stunt in Paramount’s Jackass Forever. “We wanted him all throughout the movie, but unfortunately that’s not the way it worked out,” Knoxville said. Margera eventually landed his own show, Viva La Bam. The show is described as “unlike Jackass and much more focused on the torture of Bam’s parents and less on harmful stunts.” Viva La Bam takes a cryptic, darker turn as the victims of his stunts are his own family members rather than himself. So why exactly did Margera lose his spot in the Jackass crew?

Despite being a well-loved regular to the series, Margera has a long past with addiction. After Paramount witnessed Margera relapsing back into alcoholism, they viewed him as a threat and a liability to the franchise. Since then, Margera went on to file a lawsuit against Paramount. He has reportedly publicly feuded with cast member and creator Knoxville and director/producer Jeff Tremaine.

The main reason Margera seems to still be making an appearance in Jackass Forever is because he filmed his scenes for the movie prior to being terminated. Apparently, filming for Jackass Forever had already been going on for several months before Margera was ultimately fired. That being said, it’s very unclear as to how much or how little air time he will actually be getting on the big screen. However, Margera will indefinitely be making a rebellious comeback.

Jackass Forever will be in theaters on February 4th, 2022.
