Bakugo is one of the main characters of Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia. As a student in U.A, he’s a direct rival to Izuku Midoriya for the position of the Number One Hero in Japan. Bakugo wields the Explosion Quirk, which is considered to be one of the most destructive abilities in the story.

Over the years, he’s honed his Quirk quite well and has used his powers in incredible ways to reach the top. At the same time, Bakugo has managed to keep up with the likes of Deku by developing several incredible super moves.

Note: This list isn’t ranked by the power of the moves.

7 Explosive Speed

Explosive Speed is one of Bakugo’s main powers that sees him make very clever use of his Quirk. While usually the Explosion Quirk is used to blow his opponents away, Bakugo has also figured out ways to use it to make himself stronger.

By using the explosions to propel himself, he is able to travel at extremely fast speeds, which is nothing short of incredible. He has shown the ability to use this technique on both the ground and in the air, making it quite useful in all situations. With time, his usage of this technique has only gotten much better and he continues to refine it even today.

6 Stun Grenade

Yet another incredible application of his Explosion Quirk, Stun Grenade was first used by Bakugo Katsuki against Fumikage Tokoyami. This technique, as the name suggests, allows him to produce a scale of light that can blind his enemies quite easily by blowing up into a massive flash.

This gives Bakugo the time and space to prepare for his next move in order to take them by surprise or, if needed, to make a tactical retreat. In the Joint Training Exams arc, he developed a stronger version of this technique called Point-Blank Stun Grenade the effects of which lasted longer and even damaged the enemies to some extent.

5 Howitzer Impact

Howitzer Impact is, by far, the strongest technique that Bakugo has in his arsenal for now. The technique is quite complex and sees him make use of the Explosion Quirk to the fullest. To perform it, Bakugo propels himself in the air using his explosions and then spins at an extremely fast speed to create a tornado.

This is done to make sure there is enough oxygen to fuel the flashy attack that follows next. Upon making contact with the target, Bakugo then releases a massive explosion that can engulf even buildings with ease. According to Present Mic, the power of this technique can be compared to a missile, which is extraordinary.

4 AP Shot

AP Shot, also known as Armor Piercing Shot, sees Bakugo make clever use of his explosion powers to cause precise damage, such as piercing armor, or dealing with multiple incoming projectiles. This technique sees him use one of his hands to generate a powerful explosion and the other to form a circle to help concentrate the blast into a beam.

Bakugo then fires the explosion with all his might and generates a beam capable of piercing thick stones and even rock. He has also developed a rapid-fire version of the technique, called AP Shot: Machine Gun, and a weaker version of the machine gun technique, called AP Shot: Auto Cannon.

3 Explode-A-Pult

Also known as X Catapult, Explode-A-Pult is a powerful technique that Bakugo usually performs in mid-air. This technique sees him grab his opponent with one of his arms and use the other one to generate powerful explosions to create a spinning motion. Once he generates enough momentum, he then uses a big explosion to send his opponent flying.

This technique is incredibly powerful and usually sees his enemies crash into nearby structures with tremendous force. Bakugo used this technique in the Joint Training Exams’ fourth round to deal with Togaru Kamakiri, however, he likely toned it down to avoid lasting damage.

2 Land Mine Blast

As the name suggests, Land Mine Blast sees Bakugo blow up the ground, in a sense. By placing one of his grenadier bracers on the ground, he prepares a massive explosion that he then fires off straight downwards. The force generated is enough to blow away anything in his immediate surroundings, akin to a land mine.

Bakugo first used the Land Mine Blast technique in My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising but as his power grows, so does the intensity of his explosions. Currently, his Land Mine Blast should be incredibly powerful as he is capable of keeping up with Izuku Midoriya close to 50% of his One For All powers.

1 Blasting Speed Turbo: Cluster

One of Bakugo’s strongest powers, Blasting Speed Turbo: Cluster is an incredible ability that he inadvertently used during the Paranormal Liberation War arc. The technique is quite similar to Explosive Speed in application, however, here, Bakugo concentrates his explosions to generate far more power.

Furthermore, he unleashes a number of explosions rapidly in order to move at blinding speeds. When used in the war, he was able to save Deku from Shigaraki Tomura and All For One’s Rivet Stab technique. At its best, the technique can even rival the power of One For All.
