Not many shonen series come close to Attack on Titan in terms of deaths and gore. From the very beginning of the first season when Carla Jeager was eaten alive by a Titan, it was obvious that there wouldn’t be much difference in the rest of the series moving forward.

Attack on Titan fans have seen all kinds of deaths, including Titans eating humans, Titans eating each other, and humans killing each other. There are many characters in the series, who have absolutely no moral principles at all. They murder and destroy everything in their path, and they don’t feel any kind of regret or remorse. This ruthlessness makes them the most evil characters in Attack on Titan.

UPDATED on July 12th, 2022, by Suzail Ahmad: Attack On Titan anime is getting ever so close to reaching its conclusion. The anime has given the fans both good and bad memories. Attack on Titan is home to some of the cruelest characters in the entire shonen history. These characters have been responsible for causing a great of harm to other people. With that in mind, we added some of the most evil characters from Attack on Titan to the list.

10 Bertholdt

He came to Paradis Island along with Reiner, Marcel, and Annie. As a warrior of Marley, Bertholdt was a talented fighter, and because of his abilities, he managed to graduate as the third-highest ranked cadet in the 104th Cadet Corps.

Bertholdt possessed the power of the Colossal Titan, which made him very dangerous. With just a single attack, Bertholdt could cause widespread destruction. Despite knowing that his actions would result in the deaths of hundreds of people, Bertholdt continued to destroy the walls that kept Paradis Island safe from harm. He also broke the trust of all the people with whom he had formed friendships, which is unforgivable.

9 Erwin Smith

Erwin Smith served as the commander of the Survey Corps. He was considered an elite tactician, which made him almost indispensable to the Survey Corps. Erwin used his intelligence to help the people of Paradis Island to fight back against the Titans.

As the commander of the Survey Corps, Erwin had the power over the lives of all the soldiers of the Survey Corps. Throughout his life, Erwin made many questionable decisions, which led to multiple casualties. Erwin had absolutely no problem with sending his men out to die as he believed that their deaths would benefit humanity in the long run. He achieved this feat mainly through his speeches.

8 Eren’s Friends

It was surprising to see Eren turn into a monster, who eventually destroyed more than half of the world’s population, but what was even more astonishing was seeing Eren’s friends not doing anything to prevent Eren from wreaking havoc throughout the world.

Armin, who always came off as a kind-hearted individual followed Eren’s orders and invaded Marley with the rest of the members of the Survey Corps. Armin transformed into the Colossal Titan, which resulted in the deaths of many innocent Marley civilians. Mikasa also stayed by Eren’s side and tried to protect him from any possible harm. Connie kidnapped Falco and wanted to feed him to his mother. Almost all of Eren’s friends made questionable decisions, but their biggest blunder was letting Eren do what he wanted and not stopping him.

7 Kenny Ackerman

Kenny is Levi’s uncle and is preceded by his notorious reputation. He was an infamous serial killer, who would brutally murder people without a second thought. Kenny had no qualms about killing people, and he continued to do so until he met Uri Reiss.

Kenny’s meeting with Uri changed him to a certain extent, but it didn’t take too long for his inner desire to once again take hold. Kenny became thirsty for the power that the Reiss family had. In order to accomplish his goals, Kenny was willing to betray his allies even murder children.

6 Reiner Braun

When Reiner was introduced to the series, nobody would have believed that he was a warrior sent by the Marley to destroy Paradis Island. While not necessarily evil, Reiner isn’t exactly innocent either. He joined the Survey Corps and became friends with Eren and co and even helped them on numerous occasions. All of that proved to be a farce though when he captured Eren and decided to take him back to Marley.

Since Reiner was the Armored Titan, he had a lot more strength than ordinary Titans, and it allowed him to destroy the walls that protected the residents inside with ease. When Reiner broke the walls, it resulted in the deaths of countless people, including Eren’s mother.

5 Rod Reiss

Like most of the members of the Reiss bloodline, Rod was a twisted individual. He was the father of Historia Reiss, and he wanted to turn Historia into a Titan so that she would inherit the power of the Founding Titan. Rod Reiss claimed that he cared about his daughter, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Rod’s only goal was for Historia to gain the power of the Founding Titan, which would make the Reiss family powerful. However, Historia declined to go along with his plan and threw away the Titan serum, which broke and fell on the floor. Rod Reiss was enraged that his daughter disobeyed him and began to lick the Titan serum off the floor himself.

4 Floch

Floch was originally just a coward, who ended up participating in the battle of Shiganshina. After miraculously surviving, he became a different man. Floch grew more open to violence, and he even joined the Jeagerists. Floch’s change in attitude made him one of the most hated characters in the series.

Floch ordered the other scouts to beat Keith up because the latter did not agree with Eren’s way of handling things. Floch also became more hostile towards the people living outside the walls, and was a firm supporter of Eren’s plan to change the world.

3 Zeke

Zeke is Grisha Jeager’s son, and Grisha had big plans for him at one point. However, Zeke betrayed his parents and became a warrior for the Marley. He had the power of the Beast Titan, and he used it to slaughter many innocent people. He was responsible for the deaths of many Survey Corps members in the Shiganshina arc alone.

Zeke is incredibly clever and devised a strategy to eradicate the Eldians without using excessive force. Zeke wanted to use the power of the Founding Titan to sterilize the entire Eldian race. To achieve his goal, he was ready to betray everyone, including his comrades who had served alongside him in battle for years.

2 King Fritz

King Fritz ruled over Eldia over 2000 years ago. He is responsible for starting a cruel cycle that would result in the deaths of countless people. After finding out about Ymir and her Titan powers, Fritz decided to use her to increase the power of the Eldian Empire. Fritz had three daughters with Ymir, and, after her death, he forcibly made his daughters eat their mother’s corpse.

It is unthinkable to make somebody commit such a heinous act just to preserve the power of Ymir. As he neared his own death, Fritz commanded his daughters to keep reproducing and eating each other, showing that he had zero regard for his people or his family. He merely viewed them as tools to rule over the world.

1 Eren

While Eren might be the main protagonist of the series, he doesn’t meet the typical hero criteria. This wasn’t always the case though, as when Eren first joined the Survey Corps, he was devoted to protecting the people inside the walls from the Titans. However, as the series progressed, Eren gradually turned into an incredibly wicked person.

Erem was responsible for coming up with a sick and sordid plan to “help” the world, which ultimately resulted in a complete disaster. After starting the Rumbling, Eren and his army of Titans exterminated 80% of the world’s entire population. With this in mind, it seems fair to say that Eren is easily the most evil character in the entire AttackonTitan series.
