Asus brought in the second generation of the ROG Phone a few months ago, keeping the hardcore gamers in mind. To recall, it houses a massive 6,000 mAh battery, up to 12 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 855+ processor and dual-camera setup with 48 MP primary sensor.
TBH, these are some of the jaw-dropping features that a normal user would also love to have on a phone. However, there is no such thing as a perfect phone and the same is in the case with this gaming beast.
Many users have reported refresh rate locking up as well as touch screen issues creeping up on the device. One user pointed out the refresh rate lockup issue on the official Asus community platform, which was also confirmed by several other ROG Phone 2 users:
Sometimes Refresh rate option is getting greyout and system set back to 60Hz. Unable to change it. This is happening after recent update.
Every time I have to reboot the device to fix this. Could you help me on this.
Digging in deep in the discussions, some users claimed that the system update from October might contain the root cause for this issue while some blamed it on the Screen Recorder application.

The November bugfix update didn’t address the issue. Apparently Asus was unable to pinpoint the cause, but a representative of Asus did acknowledge the glitch.

Not only this, but we also came with a report regarding the unresponsive touch screen issue which surfaced on the device after the bugfix update (16.0631.1910.44).

Though the refresh rate bug fix update also came with some caveats, as the 120Hz refresh rate may not be available by default:
The official changelog of the latest update doesn’t mention anything regarding the refresh rate lockup or the touch screen improvements. Regarding the latter, we can only spot a single positive feedback so far.
