Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids players arrive in Ireland only to find that they must face off against the druidic cult known as the Children of Danu. These ten shadowy figures pull the strings in Ireland and work collaboratively to keep the populace under their control. Through the main arc in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s first DLC, players encounter just five of these Children of Danu, leaving a further five to be hunted without the aide of the story.
These rogue Children of Danu in Wrath of the Druids are The Spider, The Ash, The Whisper, The Blaze, and The Mist and they are scattered across Ireland. Fortunately, each one requires a similar pattern in order to be discovered. Their first clue is usually revealed through the death of another member; this is followed by two more clues that pinpoint that member’s exact location. Players must hunt each one down in order to get the chance to win the Gae Bolg Mythical Spear and free Ireland from the cult’s grip.
How to Find All Cultists in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
The Spider resides within the city of Dublin and the first clue to their location becomes available after the death of The Deer in Wrath of the Druids. This clue should lead players to the drinking competition in the city. Once this challenge is won, players have to journey to Skald’s Rest on the opposite side of the city and locate a parchment on a bench. This clue reveals that The Spider is actually only about 100 meters away in the market space.
The Ash’s first clue becomes available upon the death of The Wren in the Wrath of the Druids’ main questline. This sends players to the southern half of the Connacht region and between Lough Rea and Lough Tuam. The clue is located on a ritual site here and on a pile of rocks surrounded by skulls. This note sends the player over to Kiltober, which is also located in the southern part of Connacht. This, the last clue, is in a white tent guarded by Druid enemies. Once that final clue is obtained it is revealed that The Ash is hidden in a cave in the northwest of Connacht in the area known as Kesh-Corann on the map.
The Whisper’s trail starts with the end of The Spider in Wrath of the Druids. That member of the Children of Danu’s death sends the player to northeast Meath at a location known as Boyne Tombs. Instead of searching within this structure, however, the clue is located on top of the hill and players just need to either sneak by the enemies there or take them out to get the document.
The next clue is to the southwest of Boyne Tombs, along the river, and nearby a fast travel harbor location. This clue reveals that The Whisper is wandering the bogs in Meath just to the south. Being able to track this target through the Order tab is essential as they rarely are in the same place for too long. Walking along the roads in the marked area should lead players to the target.
The Blaze comes into focus after The Ash is assassinated. Their clue is in southeastern Ulster in a burned-out town in an area known as Bally an Gall. In this area is a waterfall with a gravesite and the clue is resting on a fresh grave there. This document points to south-central Ulster to another burned town near Clogher. Inside one of the burned houses is the next clue which reveals The Blaze’s exact location. This Children of Danu member is wandering around this very area and it is more than possible to actually run into The Blaze on the way to the final clue.
The Mist is the final of the five Children of Danu in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids that are not part of the main story arc. The Blaze’s death begins the hunt for The Mist. In the northern central area of Ulster, at a place known as Doon Daven, there is a ritual site surrounded by Druid enemies. The clue rests at the center of the site but usually requires a fight in order to be grabbed.
This clue points to a beach northwest of Aileach and inside a ruined vessel. Once this is retrieved, the player discovers that The Mist is in the northwestern part of Ulster on an island run by Druid enemies. This assassination can be tricky as there are an awful lot of enemies around but, once The Mist is dead, the Children of Danu are no more. Unless players haven’t completed the storyline of Wrath of the Druids of course.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
