Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is such a long video game that people are still playing it even now that a newer Norse-themed variant is available. That speaks a lot to the game’s craft; for some, Odyssey is even better than Valhalla in part because of the better gameplay variety. This gameplay variety comes in the form of builds that make mostly combat a more fruitful and satisfying experience.
At times, adhering to these builds is even necessary especially if players are on their second or third playthrough already. The right build can spice up the game. Hence, picking a more unique or novel build that some veteran players concocted is key to enjoying the game even more. Some of these might even reawaken your love for trashing ancient Greece in a way most straightforward warrior or stabby hoplite builds can’t.
7 Poison Assassin Build
At first glance, this is a conventional assassin build that relies on daggers and Assassin Brotherhood weapons. However, those usually fare badly in boss fights. They need to have better versatility and poison is the best way to cover that weakness. Thankfully, poison weapons are everywhere and poison stats are usually incorporated into light weapons.

6 Hephaestus Build
Hephaestus is the Greek God of Fire so players probably already know where this is going. The build starts out as a traditional warrior archetype but branches out to Fire abilities and weapons later on. It’s fairly straightforward and has more robust weapon options. The downside is that fire isn’t too safe for the players compared to Poison.
Agamemnon’s Helmet: 25% Warrior Damage/+40% Fire Damage
Agamemnon’s Gauntlets: +25% Warrior Damage/+50% Elemental Buildup
Agamemnon’s Body Armor: +25% Warrior Damage/+10 Seconds Burning Duration
Agamemnon’s Waistband: +25% Warrior Damage/+10% Seconds Burning Duration

Cursed Bow of Hades: +25% Warrior Damage/+40% Fire Damage/Burning applies to nearby enemies
Hades’s Executioner: +25% Assassin Damage/+40% Fire Damage/CRIT Chance now affects Elemental Buildup
Tip: Hades’s Executioner makes it so that stacking up CRIT Chance contributes to Fire buildup so it’s recommended to use items and upgrades that add up CRIT Chance.
- Ares’s Last Breath
- Fire Mastery
- Flaming Attacks
- Kronos Time Shift (Hunter Tree)
- Kronos Time Warp (Hunter Tree)
- Multi-Shot
- Overpower Attacks
- Ring of Chaos
- Shield Breaker
Since Fire damage is finicky and dangerous, it’s best to keep one’s distance by using the Cursed Bow of Hades instead.

2 Prince Of Persia
The Legacy of the First Blade pays homage to Ubisoft’s old Prince of Persia franchise by adding a few items used by the Prince in the games. The build will focus on fast attacks, agility, and skills that allow Kassandra or Alexios to slow down time. As the armor provides a boost to warrior damage, complimenting skills and powers will be chosen to help players make the most of it. However, assassin skills will also be chosen to complete the Prince’s feel.
