Since Lost Ark officially became available in the United States, it’s become one of the most played games on Steam. Among those who have been enjoying its gameplay, and especially its endgame compared to other MMOs, is Twitch streamer Asmongold who recently made his case for why he likes Lost Ark so much.

Asmongold is well known for his streams on various MMOs so it made quite a bit of sense when he picked up and started playing Lost Ark as soon as it was available. While that meant that he suffered along with other early adopters who had to deal with server issues when the game first launched, the content creator has enjoyed his time inside the game world. In fact, he’s enjoyed it so much that he recently explained why the endgame is better than Final Fantasy 14 and others of that stripe.

The streamer said late last week that he believes there are a lot of different reasons why Lost Ark is a “breath of fresh air” including the Diablo-like combat. That combat also translates to the late-stage fights that Asmongold believes are better than the way Final Fantasy 14 and World of Warcraft finish off their main stories.

The streamer said the thing that Lost Ark’s endgame has going for it over some of the other MMOs he’s spent a ton of time on is that it is “over the top.” He elaborated further on just how much he likes how the final boss fights feel, saying, “whenever you see some of the end-game fights… they are so intense, so insane … you want to get there.”

While he was singing Lost Ark’s praises, he did go out of his way to make it clear that he also really enjoys Final Fantasy 14’s endgame. However, he thinks that Smilegate’s game simply does it better and that’s one of the reasons why the game boasts over a million players already, just a few weeks after its US launch.

When it comes to an informed opinion, it certainly seems as if Asmongold speaks from a position of authority. Of all the Twitch streamers that have been giving the game a go recently, he’s right at the top of the list with somewhere in the neighborhood of 85 hours streamed in just two weeks. It should be pointed out that his comparisons to Final Fantasy 14 are likely offered up because of his extreme familiarity with that game as well. He’s spent a total of more than 300 hours on his two accounts.
