Today is a big day for all of the Apex Legends fans out there, as the popular battle royale is getting a huge update to kick off season 9, otherwise known as the Legacy Update. The update will add the new Legend Valkyrie, a new permanent 3 versus 3 game mode called Arenas, a map update for Olympus, and a lot more stuff.
There’s a lot of changes coming to Apex Legends, and fans are sure to be excited to jump in. However, for those that are wondering just when the season 9 update for Apex Legends is supposed to go live, this guide will help players figure that out.
Apex Legends Season 9 Release Time
The official Twitter account for Apex Legends (@PlayApex) confirmed the release time for season 9 on Monday. The new season for Apex Legends is planned to start rolling out today, May 4, at 10 AM PT. As for other time zones, Apex Legends players can find the information down below:
- 10 AM Pacific Time 11 AM Mountain Time 12 PM Central Time 1 PM Eastern Time 5 PM GMT
Typically, when popular games like Apex Legends receive large game-changing updates like this, the servers can become volatile, preventing players from logging in normally and playing with friends. Players should be prepared for some issues as the update begins to roll out to all of the different platforms that Apex Legends happens to be on. Of course, there’s a chance that everything will run smoothly and no payers will face issues, but it’s unlikely.
As mentioned previously, Apex Legends’ Legacy Update will come with many new additions to the game. The new legend Valkyrie is the daughter of Apex Predator Viper, which is a character from Respawn’s other game, Titanfall 2. Valkyrie has entered Apex Legends under a nickname, but her actual name is Kairi Imahara, and she comes suited with a jetpack that will surely come in handy for reaching high places and getting to locations much faster than other Legends.
There’s also a new bow weapon called Bocek, new emotes for all Legends, updates for the Legends, quality of life improvements, updates for the Ring, many bug fixes, and much more. It seems that Apex players will have tons of content to sink their teeth into once the update goes live later today.
Apex Legends is now available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with mobile ports coming in 2022.
