When it comes to Battle Royale games, Apex Legends is surely one of the most enjoyable video games in the genre.
Within three years, the game achieved the milestone of having more than 100 million registered players worldwide.
That being said, players have complained about issues such as missing Twitch drops and packet loss in the last few days.
Apex Legends chat not working on Xbox
Adding to the trouble, Apex Legends players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) chat is not working on the Xbox version of the game. While some say it works at times and is choppy at best, others disagree and claim the function is broken for them.
This is causing a lot of frustration amongst players as communication is the key to winning especially when it comes to fast-paced shooters like Apex Legends.
Fortunately, EA Help has commented on the matter and said developers are aware of the issue and are working to find a fix for the problem. But, there is no ETA on when it will be resolved.
Players getting kicked out of character selection screen
Apart from this, Apex Legends players are also experiencing a problem where they are getting kicked out of the character selection screen (1,2,3,4,5). The issue seems to be affecting ranked matches and resulting in a temporary matchmaking ban for some.
Some say even if they restart the game, it is not asking them to re-join the round making Apex Legends completely unplayable for players. You can see in the image below the error players are reportedly getting when they get kicked out of the match.
EA Help has thankfully shed some light on the problem and shared a link to a thread where you can submit bug reports to help them with the investigation.
We hope the developers resolve the aforementioned issues as soon as possible since they are seriously impacting the gameplay in a negative manner.

12:19 pm (IST): Respawn has released a fix for the issue with ranked matches in next-gen consoles.
Update 2 (April 06)
01:50 pm (IST): Respawn has released another small patch for Apex Legends. However, it does not include any improvements or fixes for the chat issue.
Update 3 (April 07)
06:02 pm (IST): A player who reported this issue to EA support has alleged that the support has redirected him to another site to report it.
Update 4 (April 09)
05:11 pm (IST): One of the affected players suggested a workaround that involves clearing the cache of Xbox. If you are still facing this issue then you can try it out.
Update 5 (May 23)
04:42 pm (IST): EA support still says that they are working on a fix for this issue. This means that it’s still not resolved. Also, they did not provide any ETA for the fix.
