Horizon Forbidden West releases next month and in anticipation of the Sony exclusive game there’s been a large swath of information to hit the web this week. Among the info that’s been announced for one of the PS5’s most anticipated games of the year is that the game is going to have quite a talented voice cast that includes both Angela Bassett and Carrie Anne Moss.

Both actors’ names are well known to movie goers for a wide variety of different roles but interestingly enough Horizon Forbidden West won’t be the first video game either actress has participated in. While Moss’s appearance in the Enter the Matrix game is certainly not all that surprising, she also voiced Aria T’Loak in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. Bassett doesn’t have experience with multiple titles the way her cast mate does, but she did make an appearance in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege as Aurelia Arnot (AKA Six), the first female agent of the elite covert operatives.

Game Informer was the first to break the news that the two actresses will be teaming up in Horizon Forbidden West when it releases on February 18. Moss will take on the role of a new character named Tilda, who appeared in a recent trailer in a white and gold outfit. Bassett has been cast as Regalla, who Guerrilla Games has said will be one of the main antagonists in the new game.

Guerrilla Games narrative director Benjamin McCaw said that Aloy will spend a great deal of Horizon Forbidden West battling Regalla’s forces and that there will eventually be a showdown between the two characters. However, there is also a bit of a twist when it comes to this character as she has partnered up with Sylens who returns after a memorable performance in Horizon Zero Dawn.

While the developers were willing to share quite a bit of info about Regalla, they are mostly keeping things under wraps when it comes to Moss’s Tilda. They did say that she is a mysterious character that has ties to the “ancient past” but players are going to have to unravel the mystery as they play through the story.

Of course, with an early build of Horizon Forbidden West already leaked online, it will be up to players to find a way to avoid spoilers. The good news is that the game is now under a month away from its full release so those not wanting to find anything out until they play it won’t have to dodge those spoilers long.

Horizon Forbidden West is scheduled to release on February 18, 2022 on PS4 and PS5.
